Anna Yule is a London-based mezzo-soprano and psychiatrist from Lancaster, UK.

After studying medicine and working as a doctor in Scotland, she graduated with Distinction in a Masters in Vocal Studies from Trinity Laban Conservatoire in 2026. Anna studied with Sophie Grimmer as a Morag Noble and Charles Jacobs Scholar. She was a prize-winner in the Gladys Puttick Improvisation Competition and a finalist in all three of the 2025-26 languages competitions.

Recent roles include Flora cover (La Traviata, Hurn Court Opera), Maman (L'enfant et les sortilèges) and La Fortuna (Il ritorno d'Ulisse in patria). Opera scenes include Octavian (Der Rosenkavalier), Orfeo (Orfeo ed Euridice) and Ariodante (Ariodante).

Highlights include Elijah at the BBC Proms with Maxim Emelyanychev, masterclasses with James Baillieu, Susan Bullock and Ailish Tynan, premières at the New Lights Festival, and recitals at Steinway Hall and Waltham Abbey.

Stage performances include La courte paille (Poulenc), Irma (Tom Phillips) and extensive oratorio and chorus work as a choral scholar at the University of Glasgow and Old Saint Paul's Church, Edinburgh.

Anna is a doctor in the NHS and a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. She often works at the intersection of music and mental health, and recently received funding from Trinity Laban as the founder of a workshop series exploring grief through improvisation.
